Petya Bankova is a Bulgarian lawyer and national security expert. Since February 20, 2024..[1] she is the director of the "Customs" agency of Republic of Bulgaria[2].
Biography
Petya Bankova was born on February 23, 1979.
In 1998, she graduated from a language high school with French as the main language, for which she received an Accredited Diploma from the Republic of France.
In 2002, she graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a bachelor's degree in the specialty "Combating crime and preserving public order".
In 2008, she acquired the educational and qualification degree "Master" in law at the Blagoevgrad University of Applied Sciences, and in 2009, a Certificate of Legal Capacity.
In 2021, she obtained a PhD in "National Security" at UNIBIT with the topic: "Methodology for processing information for the study of objects of interest to national security"[3]
She is currently a part-time student at the Military Academy "G. S. Rakovski" Sofia in a master's degree with a specialization in "Psychology", while simultaneously studying at the "Institute of Integrative Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics".
Her career began in 2002, when she was appointed to the civil service in the "Operational - Technical Information Directorate" - Ministry of the Interior.
In 2007, she started working in the National Security Service (NSS) - Ministry of the Interior, where he remained even after the creation of the State Agency "National Security"[4]. During her career, she moved through all levels of the service hierarchy to the position of head of department in a specialized directorate, where she was responsible for preparing and providing strategic, tactical and thematic analyzes in order to support governing bodies in making decisions concerning national security. In the performance of her official duties, she actively participated in the interaction with all Bulgarian state institutions.
She completed numerous training courses in our country, in EU member states and in the USA on the topics "Migration flows", "Planning high-risk operations", "Identification and detection of radical extremists", "Planning combat operations Terrorism and Mission Conduct', 'Intelligence Extraction', 'Directing, Planning and Conducting Counter-Terrorism Operations', 'Interviewing, Debriefing and Intelligence Extraction', 'Principles and Methods of Intelligence', 'Globalization of Terrorism ".
Before becoming director of the "Customs" agency, he held the position of deputy executive director of the department[5][6]
Petya Bankova is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
