Peter Rodriguez is an American economist[1][2][3] and professor.[4][5][6] He is the dean of Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University since 2016.[7][4][8][9][10][11][12] He is also a professor of strategic management.[13][14][15][16][17][18]

Education

Rodriguez graduated cum laude with a B.S. in economics from Texas A&M University and holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University.[19][20][21][22] He studied under the former chairman of the Federal Reserve, Ben Bernanke, at Princeton.[23]

Career

Rodriguez worked as an associate in the Global Energy Group at JP Morgan Chase in Houston.[19][20] In 2003, Rodriguez became a faculty member at the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.[4][21][24]

Deanship

In 2016, Rodriguez became the Jones Graduate School of Business dean at Rice University.[25][26][27][28][29][30][7][4][9][10][15][16][17][18][11][5][6][12] He is the first Hispanic dean to lead a top business school in the United States.[19][31][32][33][34]

He has been featured on Bloomberg Politics and the Rice Business Owl Have You Know podcast.[35]

Personal Life

He is married to Kathleen Rodriguez and has three children, Gabriella, Sam, and Michael.[3]
