Peter Marlette is an American soccer executive who is currently the General manager of USL League One club, Union Omaha.[1]
Playing Career
Marlette grew up in Buffalo, New York where he attended Nichols School. While playing soccer at Nichols, he won two New York State Association of Independent Schools State Championships[2]. His Senior year at Nichols, he was named First Team All-Western New York, and First Team All-State in soccer[3]. In 2006, he attended Deerfield Academy.
Following Deerfield, he attended Trinity College (Connecticut)|Trinity College, in Hartford, Connecticut. While at Trinity, he was a 4 year starter and team captain in 2010. In 2009, he was named First Team All-NESCAC, First Team All-New England, and Second Team All-American[4].
Throughout college, he spent his summers playing for Queen City FC, Buffalo City FC, and FC Buffalo all of the National Premier Soccer League.
After college, he played one season with Woden Valley FC, of the National Premier Leagues Capital Football in Canberra, Australia[5]. During the 2012 season with Woden Valley, Marlette set a club record for goals with 18 in 18 matches[6]. That season, he was also selected to play for the Canberra Rockets representative football team in their friendly match against the Newcastle Jets FC|Newcastle Jets of the A-League Men|A-League[7]. In 2013, he signed a contract with the Rochester Rhinos of USL PRO but never made an appearance for the club[8].
FC Dallas
Marlette held the position of Business Development Account Manager at FC Dallas of Major League Soccer between 2019 and 2021[9].
Union Omaha
On February 22nd, 2021 Union Omaha announced Marlette as their General Manager[10]. Union Omaha finished the 2021 regular season at the top of the USL League One table[11]. They went on to win the 2021 USL League One Final on November 20th, 2021 at their home stadium, Werner Park in Papillion, Nebraska[12].
Education
Marlette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Law from Trinity College, and a master's degree in Sports Administration and Technology from AISTS in Lausanne, Switzerland[13].
