Peter Ewesor is a Nigerian engineer and author. He served as the former Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation and was also the first Managing Director of Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).[1][2]

Biography

Peter Ewesor was born in Jattu-Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria on the 5th May 1956. He retired as a Deputy Director/Head of Electrical Inspectorate Services Division in the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Power before he was appointed as the Managing Director of Electricity Management Services Limited in September 2013. It was during his tenure as the Managing Director/CEO of Electricity Management Services Limited (EMSL) that the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) Act 2015 was enacted, an instrument that led to the creation of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency in 2015.[3] [4] Peter Ewesor was appointed the pioneer Managing Director/CEO of Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) and Chief Electrical Inspector of the Federation (Nigeria) following the enactment of NEMSA Act 2015[5][6]. As a pioneer Managing Director/CEO of NEMSA, he served for 8 years during which the Agency evolved to fully functional enforcement and certification agency.[7][8] He attended Fatima College, Ikire in Oyo State from 1971 to 1976, The Polytechnic, Calabar, Cross River State where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering in 1981, he advanced to the University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria and earned MSC in Computer science in 1997 and a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the year 2000. He masterminded the development and publication of Nigerian Electrical Installations and Construction Guidelines manuals.[9][10]

Merit Award

He is a recipient of Presidential Civil Service Merit Award in year 2012 by the Federal Government of Nigeria.[11]
