Petar Rajić (Serbian Cyrillic: Петар Рајић; 1780-1840) was one of the first businessmen founders in 1826[1](along with Jovan Hadžić, Josif Milovuk, Gavrilo Bozitovac, Jovan Demetrović, Andrej Rozmirović, Djordje Stanković) of what became known as the most venerable Serbian institution outside Ottoman Serbia -- Matica Srpska[2][3] and later in Serbia proper along with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Rajić [4]also wrote a journal that became a source of inspiration to author Miloš Crnjanski[5][6][7]
