Pejman Jamilpanah (born 01.11.1982) is an Iranian-German musician, composer, and singer known for his contributions to various music projects and his involvement in intercultural music initiatives.

Early life

Born in Kermanshah, Iran, Jamilpanah developed a passion for music at an early age. He pursued his musical education in Tehran, studying music and composition before graduating in music production and sound engineering from the Academy of Sound.

Career

In 2002, Jamilpanah established his first recording studio, "Jamilpanah", in Tehran. Over the years, his success led him to open six additional recording studios in the city by 2011. During this period, he received regular commissions from the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation (IRIB), undertaking projects such as compositions, music and video productions, and voice recordings.

Jamilpanah actively produced his own albums and collaborated with other musicians, including composer and pianist Anoushiravan Rohani. He also worked as a music teacher, imparting his knowledge of tar, setar, pop guitar, music theory, composition, and singing to eager students.

In 2015, Jamilpanah relocated to Germany, where he has since been based. In 2016, he became a musician, composer, and singer at "Bridges – Musik verbindet".[1] in Frankfurt am Main. Bridges is an initiative that fosters connections between musicians with and without immigration backgrounds.[2] In this capacity, Jamilpanah plays the tar, setar, and lends his vocal talents to various musical ensembles, including the Bridges Orchestra, the Hope Ensemble[3][4], and the Blue Mango trio[5]

Works

One of Jamilpanah's notable compositions is "Silk Road" which he created for the Bridges Orchestra. This piece was featured on the CD album of Bridges called "Identigration"[6] and received critical acclaim. The album garnered recognition and was honored with the "Preis der deutschen Schallplatten Kritik" (German Record Award) for its outstanding contribution to the music industry.

Throughout his career, Jamilpanah has participated in numerous performances and collaborations, showcasing his versatile musical abilities. He has been involved in projects such as the West-Östlicher Divan[7] and has performed at various venues, including the Evangelische Akademie Frankfurt [8] and Volksbühne Berlin.
