He performed in the United States, South America, Mexico, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal and Sweden. In 2002 he resided at the Belgais Center for the Study of Arts directed by the pianist Maria João Pires in Portugal.[2] Later he left the concerts, dedicating himself to record recordings. He has received various awards, including the 2010 Independent Music Award for the best classical music CD for volume 2 of the complete works for piano by Manuel Blasco de Nebra, the Melómano de Oro[3] and the Grada Award for Culture 2013. He has recorded for the record labels Verso, Columna Música, Nîbius and Brilliant Classics, solo, together with the brothers Lluis and Gerard Claret, with the Orquesta de Extremadura and with the actor Alberto Amarilla. With the latter he also collaborated in 2018 on the soundtrack of the play Re-cordis.

In his work as a translator, Pedro Piquero, together with Gudō Wafu Nishijima, has edited in four volumes the Shōbōgenzō by Eihei Dogen (Sirio, 2013-2016), the foundational philosophical text of Japanese Soto Zen Buddhism,[1] and the Mūlamadhyamakakārikā by Nāgārjuna ( Syrian, 2019).[4]

From 2014 to 2016 he was a contributor to the weekly program “Si se quiere se puede” on Radio Nacional de España.[5]

In 2016 Pedro Piquero produced the documentary film "Silente", by director Rubén García, about the Spanish composer Joaquín Montero.[6] This was selected at various international festivals such as the Visions du Réel in Switzerland, the International Festival of Music for Cinema of Lisbon (Muvi), the 8th Film Festival of Cerdanya and the 9th Edition of the International Festival of Creativity, Innovation and Digital Culture of Tenerife (Espacio Enter).

Parallel to his artistic work, in 2017 Pedro Piquero received in Japan, from the Venerable Peter Rodo Rocca, the Dharma transmission of Soto Zen Buddhism in the lineage of the Zen Master Gudō Wafu Nishijima, of whom he was his last disciple. Currently, he is president of the Dogen Sangha in Spain and director of Zendo Gudo.[7]
