Pedram Shojai is an American author, filmmaker, and Doctor of Oriental Medicine. He is a New York Times bestselling author of "The Urban Monk" and has produced documentary series on health and wellness topics.
Shojai is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and former Taoist monk. He has authored several books on mindfulness, stress management, and holistic health, and has produced documentary series including "Interconnected," "Gateway to Health," and "Trauma."
Early life and education
Shojai earned his Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree and is a licensed acupuncturist in California (License #8098).[1] He was ordained as a Taoist Abbot and trained as a Qigong Master.

Shojai is a licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine who has practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. He has lectured on wellness topics and practices integrative health approaches.

Shojai's book "The Urban Monk: Eastern Wisdom and Modern Hacks to Stop Time and Find Success, Happiness, and Peace" was published in 2016 by Rodale Books and became a New York Times bestseller, reaching #11 on the Advice, How-To & Miscellaneous list on February 24, 2016.[2]

Personal life
Shojai was ordained as a priest of the Yellow Dragon Monastery in China.[11] He is the founder of the Taoist Path School of Alchemy and Urban Monk Productions, Inc.
