Peachtree Heights East

Peachtree Heights East is a Neighborhood in Atlanta, GA[1] within the Buckhead Community. It primarily contains residential buildings and is known for the Duck Pond and Parks which sit on 7.35 acres.[2][3]

Geography

Peachtree Height East's geographical borders are Peachtree Street on the west, East Wesley Road on the north, Acorn Ave on the east, and Lindbergh Drive on the south.

Neighborhoods that border Peachtree Height East include: Garden Hills, Peachtree Heights West, and Peachtree Hills.

Peachtree Heights East is part of Neighborhood planning unit B.[4]

History

Peachtree Heights East was developed by Eretus "Petie" Rivers and Frank C. Owens. Lots were initially auctioned on June 19, 1909.

The Duck Pond

The Duck Pond and Parks total 7.35 acres, including a 2-acre Duck Pond. The land was deeded in a perpectuial trust in 1933 by Una Rivers, the wife of Eretus Rivers. In 1986, Peachtree Heights Park, Inc. was formed[5] and currently holds the title.

The Duck Pond is fed by two streams and is a part of the Peachtree Creek watershed[6]

Schools

Christ the King School is located in Peachtree Heights East. Residents can also send their children to Garden Hills Elementary School.[7], Sutton Middle School[7] and North Atlanta High School[7]
