In most of the games, the player takes the role of a Rookie (profession) which is tasked to to prepare dishes according to the customer's wishes while managing several orders simusteaniously. Gameplay

Papa Louie is a Simulation video game|cooking simulation Video Game|video game series in which the player is tasked to prepare dishes according to the customer's wishes, indicated on the order ticket. To do so, they have to navigate between four (sometimes three) areas of the restaurant, called Stations, while managing several orders simusteaniously. After a dish is served, the player will be judged on four criterias (each on a 100% scala), which will influence the customer's Gratuity|gratuity ranging from $0 to $3, depending on how well the player did. After each string of five successfully served dishes, the customer will become a Star Customer with three states: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

At the end of each day, a Closer will be the last customer. They are very picky about heir food, making their grading tougher than other customers. One of these Closers is Jojo [3], the Food critic|food critic. By successfully serving his dish, he will award the player the Blue Ribbon, increasing the customer's gratuity by $3 for three days.

Sometimes, a customer will appear with a golden envelope in his/her hand: this envelope contains a Special Recipe. If the dish is served successfully, the recipe will be unlocked and can be set as the Special of the Day. Unlike the customers' orders, the Special Recipes appear in a set order and their composition cannot be changed. If served successfully, the recipe will have a special effect, such as an increase of the gratuity.
