Paota is a small village of 1097 hectares in Kotputli Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Paota depends on Kotputli, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Paota is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Paota's pin code is 303106[4], and village code is 01457600. The area of Paota is segregated as 816 hectares irrigated area, 29 hectares unirrigated, the 20 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 232 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 3718 male, 1277 female with 4576 (91.61%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 3451 males and 1125 females. 760 males and 654 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 42 male and 15 female agricultural labor. 419 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kotputli and Jaipur to sell earthen pot and make their living.
