Paddy McMahon was an Irish writer of New Age spirituality. He was also considered a Clairvoyance and a spiritual teacher.[1] He was born in Tulla, County Clare, but spent his adult life in Dublin.

McMahon's work has been published in five different languages, and has been profiled in The Irish Times, Irish Independent, and The Herald (Ireland).

McMahon is the author of eleven published books, including the five part The Grand Design series, and the best-selling There are No Goodbyes.[2] At the beginning of his writing career he published under the pen name Patrick Francis.[2]

Early life

Paddy McMahon was born in 1933 in the town of Tulla, in the west of Ireland. His childhood was described as being "reared without electricity or running water, in the Catholic claustrophobia of rural Co Clare."[1]

Personal life

McMahon moved to south county Dublin at the age of 19 after completing the Civil Service of the Republic of Ireland. He was employed as an official in the land registry between the years 1952 and 1988. In this period McMahon met his wife and had two children.

It was also during his employment with the civil service that he would hear the voice of the spirit guide Shabaka. McMahon's supposed communication with this spirit and others between the years of 1978 and 1981 would lead him to publish his first series of books outlining his spiritual beliefs; The Grand Design.[1]
