Ozu Barua (born in 1997) is an Indian actor and a former athlete. He has played football for esteemed clubs, namely Fateh Hyderabad AFC and Shillong Lajong FC. He is the son of renowned film maker Jahnu Barua.

Ozu Barua is known for his work in his debut movie Music School (2022).

Childhood and Schooling

Ozu Barua was born to Jahnu Barua and Gayatri Barua on 16th January, 1997 in Guwahati, Assam. He spent his entire childhood in Navi Mumbai and attended Delhi Public School, Nerul up to 2016. After completing AISSCE(Class 12th) examinations, Ozu joined the DJ Academy of Design, situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He then switched colleges in 2017 and joined S.K. Somaiya College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Mumbai where he pursued a Bachelors of Arts (BA.) in sociology.

Football Career

Ozu enjoyed playing football since his school days and has played professionally for the following football clubs:

  • Dadar 11 FC
  • Fateh Hyderabad AFC
  • Shillong Lajong FC
  • Minerva Academy FC, Punjab (Now RoundGlass Punjab FC)
  • Eleven Star Football Club

Acting Career

Since mid-2021, Ozu started a career in acting by joining the cast of Music School(2022).

Ozu made his debut in the film "Music School' which is being directed by Papa Rao Biyyala, music by Ilaiyaraaja choreographed by Adam Murray, Chinni Prakash and Raju Sundaram. He is a supporting actor to Sharman Joshi and Shriya Saran and will share the stage with other well known actors and actresses such as Gracy Goswami, Prakash Raj, Mona Ambegaonkar, Benjamin Gilani, Suhasini Mulay, Shaan and Vinay Varma.
