OzFoodHunter is an Australian food delivery company founded by Veeravel Kesavan in 2016. The company is headquartered in Brisbane, QLD, and has operations across Australia. OzFoodHunter provides information, menus, and user reviews of restaurants as well as food delivery options from partner restaurants in select cities.[1]

OzFoodHunter is regarded as one of the best food ordering services in Australia. As of 2021, the platform offers over 100 cuisines across all six states and union territories.

History

OzFoodHunter was founded in 2016 by Veeravel Kesavan with the aim to create such a platform that facilitates easy food ordering and contributes to the food community in Brisbane. The idea of establishing OzFoodHunter was conceived when Kesavan, while running his Indian restaurant in Cairns, realized the potential of online food delivery.[2]

Initially, it took around 6 months to overcome the challenges faced on the official website. Soon, the OzFoodHunter application was launched to serve the food community in Brisbane and to support his fellow restaurant owners.

Since its inception, OzFoodHunter expanded its services by tying up with over 3500 restaurants both in state and localized suburbs offering over 100 cuisines across Australia. OzFoodHunter application is available for both iOS and Android users and also accepts orders on its official website

In 2018, OzFoodHunter started to provide free android printer devices to all restaurant partners. This scheme attracted more and more partners, increasing the number of affiliations for OzFoodHunter.

In 2019, the company’s market share hiked up to 500,000 users, receiving over 1000 orders on a daily basis.

Operation

OzFoodHunte delivers orders to its users with over 3500+ restaurants to choose from. The app provides complete online menus from restaurants. Users can read menus, reviews and ratings, order, and pay for food from participating restaurants using an application on the iOS or Android platforms.

COVID-19 initiative

In 2020, during the COVID19 Pandemic, OzFoodHunter reduced the commission for the small businesses and also offered a reasonable discount to the users. During this time, OzFoodHunter actively reassured its consumers it was following COVID-19 guidelines and had equipped drivers with sufficient amounts of masks and sanitizers.
