Otto von Schlieben (14 January 1875 - 22 July 1932) was a German politician.

Early life

Otto von Schlieben was born on 14 January 1875 in Groß Rinnersdorf, which was located in Silesia in the German Empire.[1] He was born into the House of Schlieben, which comes from Schlieben which was at the time in Lower Lusatia, through his paternal side as the son of Otto von Schlieben (1828-1896). His mother, Agnes von Schweinitz (1839-1915), came from the House of Schweinitz, a Silesian noble family that originated in the Duchy of Merania.

Civil career

From 1910 to 1915 he was Landrat of Kreis Heilsberg.

Reich Minister of Finance

From 19 January 1925 to 26 October 1925 Schlieben was Reich Minister of Finance in First Luther cabinet.

Later career

He worked as member in Supervisory board of German company Junkers Motorenbau und Junkers Flugzeugwerk.

Personal life

Death

In 1912, he married Jenny von Heyden. Together they had two children. On 22 July 1932 Schlieben died in Halle and is buried on Zehlendorf Cemetery in Berlin.
