Ong Dia, or "Mister Earth", is a prominent figure in Vietnamese culture and is considered the patron saint of luck. He is often confused with the Buddha (or more accurately, Budai) for having a similar image.[1] Ong Dia is celebrated during the festivals of Tết, the Vietnamese New Year, and patrons will often wear masks or costumes of him. It is said that he has the power to summon a unicorn with the ability to fight off evil spirits, which is why he will take the lead during festival dances in order to clear a path for it.[2]
