One, Inc. Software Corporation, commonly One Inc, is a privately-held American financial technology (abbreviated as fintech) and software as a service (SaaS) company based in Folsom, California.[1] It offers payment processing technology software to insurance companies.[2] As the company focuses solely on the insurance industry, it is known as an insurtech.

One Inc serves over 290 insurance carriers,[3] maintains a provider network of more than 1.1 million vendors and service providers,[4] and processes more than $120 billion in annual payments.[5]

History

2012-2019

One Inc was founded in 2012 by Christopher Ewing and Tim Tyannikov.[1]

In September 2014, the company closed a $16.7 million Series A venture capital funding round led by H&Q Asia Pacific, with participation from Camp One Ventures and AGI Partners, LLC. At that time, the company was a cloud software vendor of core insurance systems to the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry.[6]

In December 2016, AXA Strategic Ventures (ASV) led a $20 million venture capital funding round in One Inc, which also drew participation from MassMutual Ventures and H&Q Asia Pacific. By that time, the company was offering a payment processing solution as part of its core systems offerings.[7]

In February 2017, One Inc launched ClaimsPay a new payment processing software technology that enabled insurance companies to deliver claim payouts to a claimant’s bank account, debit card, or prepaid debit card.[8]

In April 2017, the company raised $15.5 million in a venture capital funding led by American Family Ventures and Centana Growth Partners.[9]

In August 2018, K2 Insurance Services announce the implementation of One Inc’s Digital Payments software and realized a savings in credit card processing costs of over 50% during the first three months.[10]

In October 2019, GAINSCO Auto Insurance (GAINSCO) selected One Inc’s ClaimsPay.[11]

2020-2023

In February 2020, One Inc was acquired by private equity firm Great Hill Partners. As a result of the acquisition, Great Hill’s Matt Vettel, a managing partner, and Nick Cayer, a managing director, joined One Inc’s then CEO, Christopher Ewing, to form a three-person board of directors. At the time of the acquisition, One Inc confirmed the company was now focused exclusively on payments.[12]

In August 2020, the company acquired Invenger Technologies, Inc. (Invenger), including its flagship digital claims payment product Invenger-InsurPay, which was significantly complimentary to One Inc’s software technologies, with the long-term goal to combine the best attributes of both company’s software. At the time of the acquisition the combined One Inc/Invenger entity had over 165 customers.[13]

In September 2020, Hippo Holdings, an American property insurance company that use AI and big data to aggregate and analyze property information, announced a partnership with One Inc to incorporate ClaimsPay into its platform.[14]

In January 2021, Ian Drysdale, former President of Zelis Payments, joined the One Inc board of directors as Executive Chairman.[15]

In August 2021, the company appointed Ian Drysdale as CEO, with co-founder Christopher Ewing assuming the role of Chief Strategy Officer. With over 25 years of industry experience, Drysdale’s previous leadership roles also included Elavon (now U.S. Bank), First Data (now Fiserv) and Worldpay (now FIS). At the time of the appointment, One Inc reported serving nearly 200 clients and processed more than $18 billion in annual payments.[15]

In September 2021, Mastercard announced a real-time insurance payments partnership with One Inc.[16]

In November 2021, the company launched PremiumPay 2.0, an updated version of its inbound payments platform.[17]

In October 2022, core insurance systems technology provider Guidewire Software announced that One Inc would be its strategic partner for payments. At that time One Inc had more than 60 joint customers with Guidewire.[18] Also in October, One Inc announced it had integrated Hi Marley, an insurance-specific multichannel communications platform, into its ClaimsPay product.[19]

In November 2023, One Inc and J.P. Morgan Payments (a subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co.) announced a partnership enabling insurance companies to leverage J.P. Morgan’s comprehensive liquidity and payments capabilities as part of One Inc’s ClaimsPay product.[20]

2024-2026

In March 2024, Nordic Capital announced it would join Great Hill Partners as an investor in One Inc.[21]

In August 2024, One Inc announced it had named Michael Ellis as CFO. Ellis previously served as CFO of Flywire and in financial leadership positions at multiple other companies, such as the Massachusetts Port Authority and PwC.[22]

In November 2024, One Inc formed a partnership with U.S. Bank to integrate ClaimsPay and PremiumPay into the bank’s payment infrastructure.

In January 2025, the company announced it appointed Scott G. Stephenson as Chairman of the Board of Directors to help advance One Inc’s growth. Among other insurance industry experience, Stephenson served for over two decades at Verisk Analytics, an American multinational data analytics and risk assessment firm, in leadership roles including President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer.[23] Stephenson has been recognized by Forbes on its innovative leaders list.[24]

In February, One Inc announced it served 10 of the top 15 insurance companies in the U.S., had experienced more than 50% revenue growth for three consecutive years, and closed 87 new agreements.[25]

In May 2025, AAA Life Insurance Company, which is part of the American Automobile Association (AAA), announced it will use One Inc’s PremiumPay solution as its primary digital platform for processing policy payments.[26]

In June 2025, One Inc and Verisk Analytics announced an integration of PremiumPay with Verisk’s life insurance technology platform.[27] Also in June, One Inc launched 835 Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) software to improve efficiencies and reduce costs for workers’ compensation insurers.[28]

In October 2025, One Inc announced its expansion into Canada by offering ClaimsPay through a pre-built integration with the Guidewire Cloud.[29]

In February 2026, One Inc announced new AI-driven capabilities designed to accelerate how insurers integrate with the company's solutions as well as to securely analyze and manage payment data.[30]

Awards and Recognition

CNBC named One Inc to The World’s Top Fintech Companies for three consecutive years in 2024,[31] 2025,[32] and 2026.[33]

Deloitte listed One Inc on the 2025 Technology Fast 500 Rankings of the fastest-growing technology firms in North America.[34]

Datos Insights (formerly Aite-Novarica Group), a consultancy firm, ranked One Inc “Best-in-Class" in its Aite Matrix for Nonbank Money Transfer Platforms for Insurance B2C Disbursements in 2021.[35]

The Financial Technology Report named One Inc’s CEO, Ian Drysdale, to its list of The Top 25 InsurTech Executives of 2025.[36]

Guidewire Software presented One Inc with the Guidewire 2023 Cloud Integration Excellence Award[37] and named the company 2024 Technology Ecosystem Partner of the Year.[38]

Inc. magazine named One Inc to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for five consecutive years in 2022,[39] 2023,[40] 2024,[41] 2025,[42] and 2026.[43] Inc. also named One Inc to its Best Workplaces 2023.[44]

Strategy Meets Action (SMA), a consultancy firm, named One Inc to its Top 20 InsurTechs in Claims: InsurTechs Impacting North American P&C in 2022.[45]

In addition, One Inc maintains banking partnerships including J.P. Morgan Payments[60] and U.S. Bank.[61]
