Omosalewa Anikulapo Kuti (born October 14, 1976) better known as DJ Shaarks[1] is a Nigerian singer Disc jockey, lawyer, and descendant of the Ransome-Kuti family.[2]


Early Life and Education

Omosalewa Anikulapo Kuti was born as the fifth child of the famous Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti.[3][4][5][6]

She studied Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, and studied law at University of Lagos.[7]

In 2005, she relocated to United Kingdom where she further on music course at Point Blank Music school UK, and masters degree at University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. She started her musical career as a saxophone player gifted from her late father Fela Kuti and started professionally as producer and DJ when she moved to the UK.[8]

Career

On Friday, August 30, 2019, Omosalewa Anikulapo Kuti hosted the first ever UK installment of Felabration at Indigo O2, London.[9]

In 2021, she collaborated with South African singer-songwriter Busiswa on a single titled ‘Burn so Fine Washa’[10]
