Omega Rho Omicron (ΩΡΟ), commonly known as "ORO", members were called "Omegans" or "Minero", is a collegiate fraternity/sorority established in the Philippines in 1950.[1] The Omega Rho Omicron was created to become part of the community providing social service[2] and promoting Unity, Strength, and Leadership.[3] The fraternity/sorority is registered as "Omega Rho Omicron 1950 Republic of the Philippines Fraternity and Sorority, Incorporated" with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-profit organization/corporation.

Foundation

The Omega Rho Omicron (ΩΡΟ) was established in Far Eastern Air Transportation, Inc. (FEATI) Institute of Technology, Manila, Philippines, by eleven (11) persons in the College of Engineering who became one of their principles are to develop Unity, Strength, and Leadership among College Students. Members believed it was founded on February 14, 1950, and started their recruitment and services to trained future leaders with love for the country. In the year 1969, at the FEATI University, Manila, Philippines, ORO was formally recognized inside the university by nineteen (19) students having the motto, “Golden Unity of Leaders”. Then the college-based organization starts to establish chapters in Metro Manila and nearby Provinces. In the year 1970, eleven (11) students of Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, organized the Omega Rho Omicron inside the campus. Members from CLSU brought the fraternal organization to Cabanatuan City. One of the active chapters in Cabanatuan City is the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) formerly Central Luzon Polytechnic College and recognized as the Mother Chapter in Central Luzon. The organization further affirmed its aim to unitedly stand to make ORO great and show love for God and Nation.
