Olivia Flores (born August 12, 2007) is an American pairs skater. With her skating partner Luke Wang she is the 2024 U.S. Junior national champion, the 2024 World Junior silver medalist, the 2023 JGP Austria silver medalist, and the 2023 JGP Turkey silver medalist.[1]
Personal life
She started skating at four years old. Her older sister, Isabella Flores, also skates competitively in the ice dance discipline. She trains in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is coached by Drew Meekins, Natlalia Mishkutenok, and Danny O'Shea.[2]
Career
Flores began skating when she was five after her sister Isabella Flores began skating. Alongside pairs, she competes in women's singles, which she placed 17th in at the 2023 U.S. Figure Skating Championships
Partnership with Wang
2022-23 Season
They partnered in June of 2022. During their first season together, they won the Cup of Colorado, got fourth at the USA Midwestern sectionals, and went to the U.S. Figure Skating Championships where they also got fourth. They won their first international competition, the International Challenge Cup, during this season as well.
2023-2024 Season Flores/Wang competed at the Glacier Falls Summer Classic where they placed second. They made their Junior Grand Prix debut at JGP Austria where they placed second. They also placed second in their second Junior Grand Prix assignment, JGP Turkey, which qualified them for the Junior Grand Prix Final, where they placed fifth.
At their second nationals, they won both the short program and free skating segments and took the top spot by 24.47 points. They were selected for the World Junior team, where they placed second in both the short program and free skating segments, which put them in second place overall behind Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava of Georgia.
