Oleksii Zhmerenetskyi (Ukrainian Олексій Сергійович Жмеренецький, olekˈsʲij Voiced postalveolar fricative mereˈnetsʲkNear-close near-front unrounded vowel born October 28, 1986, Ukhta, the Komi ASSR, USSR) a Ukrainian politician, public figure and publicist, expert on information development, People's deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation[1]. He was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the 190 majoritarian district from Servant of the People (political party)[2].

Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Anti-Corruption Policy in the Sphere of Digital Innovations and Public Data, co-chairman of the group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the Lebanon, chairman of the Blockchain4Ukraine inter-factional parliamentary association, co-chairman of the Equal Opportunities inter-factional parliamentary association[3].

Biography

Born in the Komi Republic, USSR. His family moved to Khmelnytskyi, an administrative center in western Ukraine. In 2004, he graduated from school and started his studies in Khmelnytskyi National University, specializing in Information Technologies. Oleksii graduated in 2009 with a master diploma with distinction.

While studying at the University from 2007 to 2009, he worked as an engineer at the Department of Information Technology Design at Khmelnytskyi National University.

In 2009-2010 he underwent an internship in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine under the Internship Program “League of Interns”, studied the analysis of state policy and the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.

In 2012 he graduated from the National Academy for Public Administration of the President of Ukraine with a degree in Public Administration in the field of electronic government.

Oleksii is a certified social trainer of the United Nations Population Fund on the prevention of gender inequality and dangerous behavior of youth and HIV/AIDS prevention, a graduate of the Values ​​and Society program of the Aspen Institute Kyiv, a graduate of the School of Public Administration and Communications of the Institute for Social and Economic Research[4].

In 2010-2011 he worked on projects for IT support of expert activities in the international public organization "Foundation for Qualitative Policy".

In 2012 Oleksii Zhmerenetskyi was an assistant-consultant to the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 6th convocation, Volodymyr Kaplienko[5].

In 2013-2014, he was an analyst at the state enterprise National Innovation Projects on international experience, the creation of free economic zones, industrial and technological parks[6].

In 2014 and 2015 he was a Deputy Director of the State Enterprise National Project "Clean City" for industrial parks. Coordinated for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the development, together with Ernst & Young, of a feasibility study of the National Project "Industrial Parks of Ukraine" — the creation of an industrial and production infrastructure".

From 2015 to 2019 he worked as a deputy chairman and a coordinator of the Kolo Charitable Foundation.[7]
