Oleksandr Sienkevych is a tech executive who became mayor of Mykolaiv in Ukraine.[1] He is serving during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.[2][3][4] The city repelled Russian invaders. Afterwards it was shelled and suffered infrastructure damage including to its water system. The city took measures to clamp down on Russian collaborators.[5]

In November 2022, reported Sienkevych 149 residents killed and 689 seriously injured. He reported the city's population dropped 486,000 to about 225,000 during the war.[6]
