Oleksandr Hanushchyn (Ukrainian: Олександр Ганущин; born on June 16, 1978 in the city of Rakhiv, Zakarpattia Region, Ukraine) - Ukrainian politician, volunteer, Chairman of the Lviv Regional Council since November 2015.


  • 1999 - graduated from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Geography Faculty.
  • 2005 - graduated from the Lviv Regional Institute of the National Academy of Public Administration, Faculty of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.


  • 1999 – 2001 – worked as a guard at the industrial and commercial agency firm Irys.
  • January 2003 – May 2003 – LLC Avia, assistant to a plastic welder.
  • June 2003 – September 2003 – Administration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Assistant Consultant to the Member of Parliament.[1]
  • March 2005 – September 2005 – Lviv Regional State Administration, Head of the Executive Support Division.
  • September 2005 – October 2005 – Lviv Regional State Administration, Acting Head of Administrative Staff.

Civil society activity

Oleksandr Hanushchyn is an active volunteer; he repeatedly transported humanitarian aid to the front line in the ATO zone in the East of Ukraine.[3] Member of the Board of the Brody District Public Association Pidkamin Festival.[4]

Together with the Chairman of the Luhansk Regional Civil and Military Administration Yuriy Harbuz, he launched the interregional programme "Let's Change the Country Together", which includes educational and artistic exchanges between the two regions, recreation of the children from Eastern Ukraine in the Lviv Region, cooperation in information field and more.[5]

One of the organizers of the Local Development Forum in Truskavets, which annually gathers participants from Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Romania, representatives of the EU authorities to discuss regional development of the Carpathians, decentralization and the work of local governments.[6][7]


Married. Wife – Hanushchyn Solomiya. Daughters Stefania and Bohumyla, son Nestor.
