Ogawa & Co., Ltd. is a major international producer of flavors and fragrances headquartered in Chuo-ku Nihonbashi Honcho, Tokyo, Japan.
Ogawa is Japan’s oldest company specializing in flavors and fragrances (founded 130 years ago), and is also Japan’s largest privately owned flavor and fragrance company (consolidated sales of JPY 41.2 billion in FY2022).
Founded in 1893 in Osaka, the former head office building located Osaka is registered as a Japanese registered tangible cultural property (building). The only flavor and fragrance manufacturer in Japan not only producing flavors and fragrances in-house, but also cultivating some of its raw material by own farm.
Ogawa has a lineup of domestic natural ingredients such as Japanese citrus (Yuzu, Kabosu, Citrus depressa, etc.), and Ogawa has concluded an aroma collaboration agreement with Ōita Prefecture to conduct research and development on the aroma of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in Ōita Prefecture on August 23, 2019.
In addition, Ogawa has signed business partnership agreements with local governments such as Tsuyama in Okayama Prefecture, Wajima in Ishikawa Prefecture, Misato in Akita Prefecture, Shintomi in Miyazaki Prefecture, and Higashi in Okinawa Prefecture to improve the name recognition and brand power of agricultural, forestry and fishery products and to contribute to regional revitalization in each region.
