Ofer Bengal (Hebrew: עופר בנגל) is an Israeli serial-entrepreneur and multi-disciplinary inventor based in Israel and California.[1]

He is better known for co-founding Redis Labs and RiT Technologies. He is the CEO of Redis Labs, a software company based in Mountain View, California.[2][3][4]

Early life and education

Bengal was born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He graduated from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in aerospace engineering. Later, he joined the Israeli Air Force, where he was engaged with design and development of military aircraft modifications and installations, responsible for embedding weapon systems in the IAI Kfir, McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II, Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle and General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon combat aircraft.

Career

In 1983, he founded Tiltan Aero Projects, an aerospace consulting firm and was engaged with designing the weapon carriage system of the IAI Lavi. In the late 1980s he was granted several US patents on Toy ideas. His Toy construction apparatus and Labyrinth puzzle game were sold to toy companies such as Coleco, Milton Bradley Company and Tomy.

In 1989, he co-founded RiT Technologies along with Zohar Zisapel, a provider of data communications network management systems, which he took public at NASDAQ in 1997. He invented several patents in the area of Data Communications, Electrical connector and Connectivity Scanner, which served as the basis for the technology of RiT Technologies.

In 2000, Bengal founded Mobile Economy Ltd, a provider of mobile internet technologies, which was sold to SchlumbergerSema in 2003. He invented several patents in the area of mobile Internet, System and method for internet communications and System and method for wireless advertising, which served as the basis for the company’s technology.

In 2011, Bengal founded Redis Labs under the name Garantia Data and became the CEO of the company. [5][6]
