Nuwan Dissanayaka is one of the leading educationists in Sri Lanka. Born on 04th January 1988 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. He was appointed as the ambassador for The Global Teacher Award 2020. [1] He is the founder of "A Sri Lankan Dream Foundation" which focuses on creating democratic and innovative environments in the Sri Lankan education system. [2] Because of his service he was awarded with the gold award for outstanding contribution on Sri Lankan education at SEF 360 award ceremony. [3] Furthermore, his project "A Sri Lankan Dream" got selected as the one of the top 10 projects in the world for best initiative for inclusion and wellbeing. [4] Moreover, He organized the first Teacher award ceremony in Sri Lanka name "Most Innovative Teacher of The Year Award".[5] More over he organized the first Sri Lankan Democratic Education conference which is known as SLIDE and which has become an annual education conference in the country.
The Most Innovative Teacher of the Year is the first award ceremony initiated in Sri Lanka for Teachers which was initiated by Mr. Nuwan Dissanayaka
