Maria Pavlovna Emelyanova (Мария Павловна Емельянова); born October 10, 2002), known mononymously as Nova (노바), is a K-pop artist and Russian rapper, dancer and singer. She is a member of the South Korean girl group X:IN.
Early life
Prior to becoming a K-pop idol, Nova was apart of a Russian K-pop dance cover group named DALCOM cover dance team on YouTube.[1]
Career
2022-2023: MEP-C
In 2022, Nova, formerly known as Maria, joined GBK Entertainment and became a trainee through their online training platform Universe, the platform was used to select girls to debut in their future girl group. On November 29, 2022, now known as Nova, was revealed as one of the members of GBK's upcoming girl group MEP-C.[2] In early 2023, she was assumed to have left both the group and the company after the deletion of her profile post.
2023-present: X:IN
On March 7, 2023, Nova was officially revealed as the fourth member of Escrow Entertainment's upcoming girl group X:IN.[3] The group officially debuted on Inkigayo on April 11, 2023, with their first digital single "Keeping the Fire".[4]
