Nosipho Dumisa is a South African writer and director. She wrote and directed her first feature film, the crime thriller Nommer 37 (2014, in Afrikaans)[1] and the hit Netflix show Blood and Water (2020) [2]. She works with Gambit films, which she co-founded [3][4] and her works typically feature Cape Town, South Africa as a setting[5][4]. She has also produced works, like the Afrikaans language soap opera Suidooster[6].
Her works have been premiered at SXSW and won international awards [4].
Dumisa is Zulu, but learned Afrikaans in school[6]. She started her story-telling at a young age[4].
