Northwest Paper Box Mfrs., Inc. is an American manufacturer of paper-based packaging headquartered in Camas, Washington. Founded in 1953 in Portland, Oregon, the company manufactures rigid setup boxes and corrugated packaging for commercial and industrial customers in the Pacific Northwest.[1][2]
History
Northwest Paper Box was founded in 1953 by Marvin "Van" Van Allen and William "Bud" Van Allen, who had prior experience in the regional paper box industry. The company began operations in a small facility in southeast Portland, Oregon, initially producing rigid setup boxes for regional customers.[2]
Over subsequent decades, the company expanded its manufacturing capacity and product offerings. During the 1980s and 1990s, Northwest Paper Box added corrugated packaging and related converting processes to its operations, broadening its customer base and production capabilities.[2]
In 2015, Oregon Business listed Northwest Paper Box among its "100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon," based on employee survey responses.[3]
In 2023, the company relocated its headquarters and primary manufacturing operations from Portland to Camas, Washington. Industry reporting cited operational needs and updated manufacturing requirements as contributing factors in the move.[2][1]
In July 2026, U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez toured Northwest Paper Box's Camas manufacturing facility to discuss domestic manufacturing and the regional timber industry.[4]

Acquisitions
Northwest Paper Box has expanded in part through acquisitions of regional packaging businesses. In 1993, the company acquired the assets of Taylor-Made Packaging, a corrugated packaging manufacturer based in the Pacific Northwest.[5]
Subsequent acquisitions included the setup box assets of Grigsby Paper Box in 1995 and Pacific Paper Box in 1998. In 2016, the company acquired the setup box assets of Universal Paper Box in Seattle, expanding its operations in the Seattle–Tacoma area.[2][1]
