Norbert Norman Tjore (born 17 August 1976) is an entrepreneur and businessman. Norbert is the founder and managing director of Jambo Travelhouse[1], consultant of Jambo Safaris & Consulting Norway, COO of Asili Event and co-owns Number 7[2]. His work has been featured in The Standard titled Village boy that inspired an international travel brand[3] contributed to Verdens Gang (VG) "Bli med hjem til Norbert's Kenya"[4] (Come Home to Norbert's Kenya) and NRK Kenya – more than a photo safari.[5]

Early Life

Norbert grew up in a small village in Muhoroni, Kisumu County, Kenya. He attended Thessalia Mission Primary School after the loss of both parents and taken in by his grandparents. It was during this time that he met his Norwegian mother, which ultimately led to his journey to Norway where he studied shipping and embark on a career at Nor-cargo AS (today Bring Cargo).

Entrepreneurial Journey

In 2000, Norbert founded Jambo Travelhouse[1] to promote cultural tourism in Kenya. In 2002 , he partnered with Mark Sang, and together they built Jambo Travelhouse[1] to what it is today. In addition to Jambo Travelhouse[1], Norbert also established Jambo Safaris & Consulting Norway providing consultancy services, and arranging events and conferences both in Kenya and in Norway with Asili Event. In Kenya, he co-owns Number 7[2], a Cocktail bar, with Eugene Mbugua, CEO of D&R studio. Norbert offers consultancies in the oil and gas industry as Project Logistics Management.

Norbert's journey from a village boy to a successful entrepreneur has garnered attention and recognition.
