Scott Bruzenak, also known as Noisecastle iii, is an American producer and songwriter best known for his collaborations with Daya and Dawn Richard..[1][2] His highest charting songs include the RIAA 2x Platinum singles "Hide Away" and "Sit Still Look Pretty".[3][4]

Career

In 2012, Bruzenak formed a production trio called "The BackpackKids"[5][6] together with Los Angeles natives Tommy Parker and Austin Brown (nephew of Michael Jackson[7]). Together with The BackpackKids, Bruzenak co-produced 5 songs from R&B Singer Jojo's 2012 mixtape Agápē and Brown's debut 2013 mixtape Highway 85[8].

In 2014, Danity Kane member Dawn Richard enlisted Bruzenak, a relative unknown at the time[9] as sole co-producer on Blackheart [10]. The album, while not a commercial success, received widespread critical acclaim,[11] claiming the top spot on Fact Magazine's 50 best albums of 2015[12] and featuring on Pitchfork magazine's list [13] of the same name. Pitchfork described Bruzenak's production as a "revelation, sending R&B spinning into any and all nearby galaxies"[14]

In 2015, Bruzenak produced American pop singer Daya's debut single Hide Away which rose to #23 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Daya's first top 40 single in the US[15]. Daya's second single, Sit Still, Look Pretty, also produced by Bruzenak, peaked at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100.Bruzenak went on to produce 11 songs on Daya's 2016 debut album Sit Still, Look Pretty which peaked at #36 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

From 2017-2023, Bruzenak contributed writing and production to a diverse set of pop, R&B, electronic, and k-pop songs including "When It Ends" from R&B singer Macy Gray's 10th studio album Ruby, "Breathe" for electronic artist Mako, "Prom Queen" for folk-pop artist Catie Turner, "Love Goes On And On" for violinist Lindsey Stirling featuring Amy Lee of Evanescence, "Us" for pop singer Carlie Hanson, "Funny Valentine" for South Korean girl-group MiSaMo, and "ASOBO" for Japanese girl-group NiziU.
