Nilaa Rajaa Baalu (b.2008) is an Indian Trap Shooter who has won several medals including a National Gold under the Junior Women category at the 65th National Shotgun Shooting Championships 2022 in New Delhi. Apart from it, she has represented Team India in 2 International Competitions including an ISSF Junior World Cup- the one held at Suhl, GER in 2023.

Personal life

Nilaa Rajaa Baalu was born as the second child on 2/8/2008 to T R B Rajaa and Sharmila. Her father Rajaa is an Indian Tamil Politician who currently serves as the Minister for Industries in the Tamil Nadu government and her Mother is a businesswoman taking care of the family businesses. Nilaa's parternal grandfather T. R. Baalu is a Member of the Indian Parliament and the maternal Leo Muthu used to chair Sairam Group of Institutions and Leo Group of Companies until his demise in 2015.

Shooting career

Nilaa was brought into the shooting career by her primary coach High Highness Rajah R. Rajagopala Tondaiman of Pudukkottai and trains primarily at the Royal Pudukkottai Sports Club in Southern Tamil Nadu. She is also coached by Former World Champion Khaled and India's No.1 Trap Shooter Prithviraj Tondaiman.
