Nicola Comucci (16 April 1920 – 9 October 1991) was an author and teacher at the Centro Tecnico Federale di Coverciano, as well as the athletic instructor for Juventus (1951/52), Torino F.C. (1952/3) and A.C. Milan (1953/54).[1]. He also wrote books about Soccer techniques and training, such as Allenamento per il calcio (Training for soccer) and L'Allenamento al gioco di squadra (Training techniques for team play).[2]

Comucci attained a degree in Physical Education in 1941, with a B.A. from the University of Florence in 1948.[3]

During the first half of the 1950’s he founded and developed courses for soccer coaches. He also translated books by Árpád Csanádi and Eric Batty to create Italy’s first books on soccer techniques.[4]

In 1955, he became a permanent instructor for coach qualification, as well as an organizer for the preparation of the Italian National team.[5]

Professor Comucci taught Coverciano's first-ever courses on physical preparation for soccer players.[6]

In 1975, Comucci was working as an instructor for the athletic preparation for coaches at the Centro_Tecnico_Federale_di_Coverciano|Coverciano Federal Technical Center.[7]

According to Comucci, with reference to athletic preparation, improvement came about “solely by repeating 'fundamental' movements, as is done for dancing or singing. In this sense, individual technical training is not only necessary, but of vital importance.”[8]

He died on 9 October 1991 in Lido di Camaiore, Italy.[9]
