Nicolás Espinoza (Viñá del mar, 27 of august, 1983) is a theater maker and profesor from Chile. He obtained his master degrees in Scenography and Mise en scene in the Michel de Montaigne University Bordeaux III, He studied acting in Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He currently works as a profesor in Universidad de valparaíso, universidad academia de humanismo cristiano, escuela de cine de Chile ***Redacted Copyright Violation*** and Universidad Mayor.

Since 2008 he has directed more than a dozen creations including UNABOMBER, Conversaciones sobre el futuro, Un enemigo del pueblo, No tenemos que sacrificarnos por los que vendrán, DARK, NIMBY, and Casa de muñecas. In 2012 he founded Colectivo Zoológico where he collaborates as director until 2020. His work has been presented in Germany, Costa Rica, Norway, Spain and Brazil.

He has been resident artist at the Watermill Center, a space directed by Bob Wilson in New York, invited artist to the International Meeting of Young Creators of the TransAmeriques Festival, Canada, to the International Staging Meeting of the Théatre Gerard Philipe in Paris, to the NEXT STAGE program of the Dublin Theater Festival.

In 2021 he received the Ibsen Scope Grant for the creation of the play In every soul there is black stain that needs to be obscured. Currently his work is focused on developing scenic investigations that reflect on diverse natural phenomena and the active participation that these non-human forces have in political and social events.
