Nicolás Falla (born 24 March 2002), popularly known as Nico Falla, is a DJ, music producer, and audio engineer hailing from Guatemala. He is best known for his rhythmic and hypnotic Tech-House compositions such as Asi, Movimiento, and Terror 404. Nico is currently managed by Pamela Estacuy and works alongside mastering engineer Zyranox.[1]

Within a short span of time, Nico has attracted the attention of several industry giants and has been supported by the likes of Afrojack, Oliver Heldens, Benny Benassi, and Don Diablo. Nico is Recognized as one of the fastest emerging underground artist in the region and has even played at a number of globally popular music festivals, including Empire Music Festival, Ultra Resistance, Corona Sunsets, Wizards Mansion, and The Secret Garden, to name a few. Nico became the first Guatemalan to play at Ultra Resistance, becoming one of the most popular DJs in Guatemala.[2]

One of the main reasons of Nico Falla’s popularity is that his song “moving” was a worldwide hit in the tech house scene hitting +160,000 streams in Spotify.

Early life and education

Nico was born on 24 March 2022 to Valentina Montenegro and Guillermo Galindo. At an early age, he developed a keen interest in music composition and began to learn how to play various instruments, such as the guitar, the piano, and the drums, among others. Eventually, he found his passion for house music and started to create songs in that genre.

He completed his education at Colegio Metropolitano, Universidad Francisco Marroquín, and SAE Mexico.

Career

Nico eventually recognized that his compositions had a lot of potential and began sharing them across music channels like SoundCloud and YouTube, where he received several positive comments about his music. Soon after earning an audio engineer, he began pursuing a career as a DJ.

Nico started his professional career in 2020 with his first professional solo recording debut with the single “Lost in Time.” Nico performed at his first international festival (Empire Music Festival), where only the biggest DJs played, after releasing music for two years. Following the concert, many new fans and followers began listening to Nico's music, and in just one year, he had around 800,000 streams on Spotify alone.

When Nico was asked to perform at Ultra Resistance, one of the largest underground stages in the world, the concert featured close to 5,000 spectators, and Nico's popularity grew as a result. Nico's most recent significant event was the Corona Sunset New Year's Festival when he performed as the featured act.
