Nicholas Jackiw (born 1966) is an American software designer and mathematics education researcher. He is the creator of The Geometer's Sketchpad (computer software, 1991-2009),[1][2] and with it, a technologically-mediated geometric visualization paradigm he named “Dynamic Geometry”[3] that has become widespread[4] in subsequent interactive geometry software. Jackiw also designed and created TouchCounts and TouchTimes, which (like Sketchpad) explore novel gestural, embodied, and haptic approaches to mathematics.[5][6]

As a researcher in mathematics education, Jackiw publishes on pedagogic software design[7], especially for mathematics. Jackiw’s software titles are the subject of considerable scholarly research in mathematics and mathematics education,[8] and have received various industry awards (including "Best Educational Software of All Time").[9] In 2018, Jackiw received the Prize for Excellence of the International Society for Design and Development in Education.[10]
