Neran is a small village of 6259 hectares in Pokaran Tehsil in Jaisalmer district, nicknamed ""The Golden city"" in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Neran depends on POKARAN, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Neran is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Neran's pin code is 345026[4], and village code is 02054200. The area of Neran is segregated as 1442 hectares unirrigated, the 4011 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 806 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Neran has One post office (Nedan B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Neran has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Neran is a census village in the district of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1501 and has total administration over 240 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of POKARAN and Jaisalmer to sell ghee and make their living.
