Nathaniel Searl (born 26 Feburary 2009) is an American track and field athlete. On April 5th, 2024, he broke Duncan U. Fletcher High School's freshman school record in the 800 meters, clocking a time of 2:11.67 at the Gateway Conference Track & Field Championship in Jacksonville, Florida.
Early and personal life
Nathaniel started athletics in his last year of middle school, as he was inspired by athletes such as Athing Mu and Will Sumner. He initially ran in 400 meters, and later realized he would compete best as a middle distance runner.
Career
On May 9th, 2023, Nathaniel Searl competed in the Duval County Middle School City Championship and won the 800m race with a time of 2:13.12, winning the race within the last 50 meters. He went on to compete at the 2023 AAU Club National Championship at Universal Studios, where he placed 5th with a personal best of 2:11.30. Afterwards, he competed at the AAU Junior Olympic Championships and finished with a similar time of 2:11.57.
Aspirations and Goals for the Future
Nathaniel Searl wishes to compete as a collegiate athlete within the D1 league of the NCAA when he is older. He aspires to become a professional runner and is inspired by the current world-class athletes that are dominating the sport.
