Nathan Davis Jr (born 18 January 1994), known professionally as Nathan Davis Jr, is an American singer, actor, songwriter and dancer. Born in Long Beach California and raised in Cordova TN, he moved back to California to start an acting career in 2012. Nathan rose to international prominence by posting singing and comedy videos to his Tik Tok page. As an actor, he is best known for his roles in Detroit, Marvel Runaways, Snowfall, Start Up, Lethal Weapon & Here and Now. He also starred in the ALLBLK's Original tv series, Millennials. The series won an Indie Series award for best ensemble.

Early Life

Nathan was born in Long Beach, California to parents, Sofea Watkins & Nathaniel Davis SR. He started singing at 10 months old before he would start walking. He often would travel with his mother to different churches where she would perform live. His debut acting role was at the age of eleven in the play, Annie Jr, as Mr. Warbucks. As his love for performing grew, he started working as a Michael Jackson impersonator in his teens. He matriculated from Houston High School and trained and competed as a Classical vocalist under the direction of Dr. Billy Rayburn. It garnered him three All-West Tennessee Honor awards. He also had supporting roles in musical theater. After being told by his drama teacher that he would not make it as actor, he decided to move back to California to pursue an acting career. His mother joined him as his manager.

FILM & TV

Davis has co-starred in several major films, including "Detroit" as Aubrey Pollard (2017), and "Hotel Artemis" (2018), as Rocco. He also co-starred in "Glee" (2013), "Criminal Minds" (2013), and "The Soul Man" (2013). In 2015, he led the Nickelodeon series, "Chase Champion", as Diego. He was a guest star in Lethal Weapon (2018) and Runaways as Andre (2017). He then stared in two Christmas movies, "You can't fight Christmas" & "Miss me this Christmas" (2017). In 2018 he appeared in the tv series, "Here & Now" as Kelvin Harrison, "In Contempt" as Willie Walker, "Snowfall" as Delroy, and "Startup" as Ricky. He also starred in "Millennials", in 2022.

SOCIAL MEDIA

In late 2019, Nathan created a Tik ToK account. Within one month he gained over one million followers. He started out posting remixed songs and covers to his Tik Tok & Instagram accounts. He released a cover song to " Changes" on YouTube, by Xxxtentacion in 2018. It currently has 84.5 million views. He has amassed over 20 million followers on Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram & Facebook. He frequently partners with brands to promote their products. He appeared and sang in a Sony campaign for LinkbudsS in 2022.

Music

As an Indie artist Davis has amassed over 100 million streams on all DSP's platforms total. He is a versatile artist known for his blend of R&B, Pop, and Afrobeat's genres. In 2014, he co-wrote the hook for Thug love for Jeremih, who was a featured artist on Chinx' album, Welcome to J.F. Kennedy. It was the leading single. He released a mixtape on Soundcloud, entitled, "Seven". He released Regular in 2019 and the single, Catch a body(123) in 2020 with APG record label. He also released Jealous in 2021, & How many times featuring a native Memphian, FrescoTrey in 2022. He released a Christmas EP, "Christmas List", in 2022. After his younger brother committed suicide in April of 2023, Nathan produced and co-wrote the song, "Missing You" to help him with his grief. In 2023 released a cover of SZA's song, Snooze, and a cover to Tyla's song, Water.
