Naomi Jillo Waqo born on September 1969.[1] is a Kenyan Politician and current member of the 13th Parliament of Kenya representing Marsabit County and a member of the United Democratic Alliance (Kenya)[2].

Political Career

Naomi Waqo started her Leadership career in 2003 to 2005 as Administrator and Development Cordinator in Anglican church of Kenya and from 2005 to 2012 as St Nicolas Development Center Director and Diocesian Administrative Secretary from 2012 to 2017. In 2017, she joined Politics and was nominated to the Senate of Kenya under Jubilee party and her nomination from no previous political experience was an inspiring position to the Women of Marsabit County on politics. As Jubilee Party Senator she was inexperienced in Politics that she nearly lost her position when her party leader president Kenyatta wanted to step her and other Senators down accusing them of disrespecting the Jubilee Party President of which she overcomed[3]. After joining politics from nowhere, she gained political experience and joined William Ruto in his Party United Democratic Alliance ran for an elected position using the United Democratic Alliance (Kenya) ticket as Marsabit Woman Representative and she won the position defeating the incumbent Woman representative Safia Sheikh Adan in 2022 [4]. Before joining the 13th Parliament of Kenya in 2022',she held positions in other parliaments. In 2017 to 2022 She was a committee member on Agriculture and Fishery, 2018 to 2021 She was the ChairPerson to the Committee on National Cohesion,Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration and the Vice Chair Person in Comittee of Justice,Legal Affairs and Human Rights 2019 to 2022[2]. She was also appionted on 29 January 2020 as a Director to Nagele Livestock Capital Ltd[5]
