Naji Abou Zeid (born October 2nd, 1987) is a Lebanese entrepreneur and philanthropist who is currently Executive Board Member of Online Money Transfer S.A.L., a leading money transfer and financial services provider based in Beirut.

Early Life

Naji Abou Zeid was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He attended Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais de Beyrouth, and graduated in 2008 from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, before joining The Business School (formerly Cass) — The Business School (formerly Cass) in London and graduating in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Management and Entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on finance and entrepreneurship.

Career

Online Money Transfer S.A.L.

Naji Abou Zeid joined “Online Money Transfer S.A.L” (OMT) in July 2009 as its retail director. Founded in 1998, OMT is the leading electronic money transfer and financial services provider, and the master Accredited Agent of Western Union Inc. in Lebanon [1]. As retail director in the company, Abou Zeid oversaw sales and business development, and managed the growing Agent network of OMT, which now consists of more than 1,000 points of sale across Lebanon.

In 2012, Abou Zeid’s executive role was extended to cover operations and IT, which enriched his commercial and managerial experience.

In 2015, Abou Zeid was appointed Executive Board Member of OMT and head of the executive committee.

Abou Zeid is leading OMT’s digital transformation by implementing a business strategy that adapts the current business model to the latest digital trends both internally and externally.

He founded and has been Chairman of OMT Real Estate since 2017. The company handles real estate investment and development projects in Lebanon and abroad.

Other ventures

In 2017, Naji Abou Zeid became a shareholder at AstroBank, a leading commercial bank in Cyprus, operating through 16 branches across the country.

That same year, he also acquired equities in Orient Swiss, a Swiss company managing ZoodMall, an online shopping application operating digitally in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.[2]

In 2018, he founded and became a board member and shareholder of Online Cash International S.A.L (OCI), an additional agent partner of Western Union in Lebanon specialized in money transfer services.[3]

In 2019, Abou Zeid acquired equities in Veertec S.A.L., an artificial intelligence services provider operating in Gulf countries and Europe.

Abou Zeid has also been involved in various real estate transactions on both personal and corporate levels, mainly in the EU, USA and GCC areas.

Personal life

Naji Abou Zeid is married to Stephanie Missirian and has two sons, Alex and Raphael.

He speaks fluent Arabic, French and English, and his hobbies include football, travelling, and technology.

Philanthropy

Naji Abou Zeid has been the president of White Land Foundation since 2011, an NGO founded in 2005 that aims to secure decent lives for individuals and enhance human development by creating suitable opportunities through a variety of environmental, educational, and economic programs.[4]
