Myriam Sidibe is a Malian public health expert, author, and social entrepreneur known for her pioneering work in hygiene promotion and public health marketing. She played a leading role in creating Global Handwashing Day,[1] and led Unilever’s hygiene campaigns targeting over one billion people.[2]
Career
Sidibe spent over a decade at Unilever as the Global Social Mission Director for the Lifebuoy brand, where she designed large-scale handwashing behavior change programs across Asia and Africa.[3] She spearheaded the launch of Global Handwashing Day, which is now celebrated in over 100 countries.[4]
She is the founder of Brands on a Mission, a consultancy that helps businesses align social impact with business growth.[5] She has also led pandemic response efforts in Kenya through the National Business Compact on Coronavirus.[6]
Education
Sidibe holds a Doctorate in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.[7] She is also a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government.[8]
