myGemma is a New York-based, online luxury resale platform. Founded in 2018, the website allows customers to buy and sell a wide range of luxury, designer accessories, including: handbags, jewelry, watches and diamonds.

History

myGemma was founded in New York City in 2018 by CEO Andrew Brown..[1]. The company also used to operate WP Diamonds, where customers could sell their pre-owned luxury accessories. myGemma is differentiated by offering a full resale service, including buying, selling and trading in.

According to PR Newswire, WP Diamonds and myGemma merged in September, 2023 and now solely operate under myGemma.

November - December 2018, myGemma opened a holiday pop-up store on Madison Avenue, New York.

In December 2022, myGemma partnered with Bonhams[2] on a handbag auction.

Description

myGemma is headquartered in New York City and has offices in the UK.

myGemma buys accessories by designer brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Cartier, Rolex and Tiffany & Co. The business buys customers' items directly[3], as opposed to a marketplace business model.

The designer goods are resold into the market after being assessed and authenticated by their team of in-house luxury experts and re-polished or serviced. The company sells primarily online, with occasional pop-ups and events[4]. As well as the company’s website, myGemma also sells its products on over 20 platforms.

As of September 2023, myGemma has a TrustScore of 4.8 on Trustpilot[5]

Sustainability

myGemma works with two sustainability partners, Ecologi[6] and Ample. Ecologi plants a tree with every sale and purchase on myGemma, while Ample removes ten plastic bottles from the ocean with each purchase[7]
