Murkasni is a small village of 921 hectares in Bilara Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Murkasni depends on Pipar City, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Murkasni is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Murkasni's pin code is 342601[4], and village code is 02009800. The area of Murkasni is segregated as 175.02 hectares irrigated area, 374.18 hectares unirrigated, the 78.89 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 288.66 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pipar City and Jodhpur to sell lime stone and make their living.
