A regulating organisation for cricket in Mumbai and its neighbouring areas, such as Thane and Navi Mumbai, is the Mumbai Cricket Association (BCA), originally known as the Bombay Cricket Association.

The MCA's jurisdiction extends from Dahanu in the Western Suburbs to Badlapur in the Central Suburbs, and from Navi Mumbai to Kharghar. The association is located in the western zone.

The Association was founded in 1930 and is governed by a Constitution. During the biannual elections conducted in Mumbai, Sharad Pawar was re-elected as president of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). He defeated Vijay D Patil by a margin of 27 votes, ensuring his continuation in the position. Pawar won the race for MCA president with a score of 172-145 against Patil. On the 4th of October, Vijay Patil was chosen as the President of the MCA.

On January 1, 2022, the MCA announced that it will postpone all of its competitions for COVID-19 cases.
