Mukesh Asopa (born 31 March 1979) is a Canadian actor, producer, writer and director best known for his movies Depth of Pyaar, Bloody Romeo; Chambers Gate; Zombie Beach[1][2] and The Taste of Relation.[3][4]

Asopa is the founder of Asopa Films, a production house based in Canada, and is a member of the Directors Guild Of Canada.[5][6][7]

With over 100 wins and 60 nominations globally Asopa is the recipient of various accolades in the North America including American Movie Awards, California film awards, SoCal Film Awards, Golden Ace Award at Las Vegas; Spirit Awards at Idyllwild in California, Aurora Awards in Utah. Rising Star Award at Vancouver in Canada;, Care Awards in West Virginia; Golden Palm Awards in Mexico, Maple Leaf Award at Vancouver in Canada; and Platinum Reel Awards at Nevada in the USA.[8]

Asopa made his professional acting debut in the film Reel Zombies and has been involved in fourteen films and multiple television series that have gained recognition for their conceptual storylines.[9][10]

Early life and education

Asopa was born on March 31st, 1979, in Kolkata and Grew up in Kolkata with two brothers. Later, Asopa enrolled in the University of Calcutta,[11] where he pursued B.COM and then did his Post-Graduation in Business Management at the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India. Asopa then pursued CMA from London, England, and later moved to Canada.[12][13]

Asopa is also an Alumni of the Barry John Acting Studio.[14][15]

Career

Asopa started his career in 2006 as an actor.[16] He got roles in feature films such as No Place to Hide, Karim, and Bollydouble and television series such as Pastor Greg. Ghostly Encounters, Asopa, in 2008, after working with David J. Francis’ on his film Reel Zombies, launched Asopa Films Inc., a production house in Canada.[17][18]

Asopa through Asopa Films Inc., released films projects that received nomination and won awards globally.. Asopa’s recent film, Depth of Pyaar[19] has won over 50 awards along with securing over 40 other nominations. Produced By : Mukesh Asopa p.g.a. the film did well on Box Office and the OTT platforms like Amazon Prime and many others globally.[20][21]

Bloody Romeo his latest film Produced By : Mukesh Asopa p.g.a. was released in Canada recently with box office in theatres on the Halloween, October 31st 2021 with restrictions for Covid protocols. So far with over 20 wins the film is progressing fast with more releases in the year 2022.[22]

Personal life

Asopa married Twinkle Asopa in 2007 and they have a son together named Akshay Asopa who is an actor. Asopa is fluent in English, Hindi, Marwari (Rajasthani), Bengali, and Punjabi. Asopa is Vegetarian and do not smoke or consume alcohol.[64][65]
