Muhammad Jawad Rida (Arabic: محمد جواد رضا) (1931-) is an Iraq Professor, he joined the Higher Teachers’ Union in 1948 and graduated from it in 1951. He obtained his master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan in 1959. He returned to Iraq and joined University of Baghdad as a comparative education professor (1959-1963). He then left Iraq to work in the college of Shariah and Islamic Studies in Mecca (1964-1966) both of which shaped the core of Umm al-Qura University later on. He co-founded the Kuwait Society for the Advancement of Arab Children in 1980. He moved to Jordan and was a professor in the University of Jordan from 1992 to 1994, then worked in Al al-Bayt University from 1995 until he resigned in 1998. He then held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University (1998-1999). After which he moved to Bahrain and worked as a professor in University of Bahrain (2000-2003) and then as a consultant at the Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research (2003-2005).[1]

He was awarded the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science Appreciation Award for the year 2000 in Cairo.[2]
