Muhamed Brkić, also known as Hamo is a Bosnian musician. He is recognized for his work in the duet Hamo i Soso from 1993 to 2005 and for his work with Suad Jusić Sutko on the 1992 album Bosno Moja, Jabuko, in which he performed vocals for two songs; Rodni Kraj Sam Svoj Izgubio and Artiljerija, Bosanac Bekrija.
Early life and career
Brkić was born in 1955 in Vlasenica and showed musical talent early on as a boy in elementary school, participating in the school choir there. In his freshman year of high school, he became a drummer in the band VIS SIGMA 4 on 4 February 1971. He initially was a drummer, but would later change his role to being a bass guitarist. Brkić would study in Sarajevo and meet various musicians such as Petar Blažević, Sakib Jakupović, and Nijaz Zejnilagić, alongside other various students from the Sarajevo Music Academy. He would later join the Treća Smjena group and peform with the group until 1982.[1]
Bosno moja, Jabuko
In 1992, Brkić and several other artists collaborated in Tuzla on the MAT production project and album Bosno moja, Jabuko with Suad Jusić Sutko. Brkić produced two songs for the album: Rodni Kraj Sam Svoj Izgubio and Artiljerija, Bosanac Bekrija.[2][3] The latter of which becoming popular online due to proliferation of the song on YouTube.[4]
Hamo i Soso
In 1993, Brkić formed the duet Hamo i Soso with Ekrem Hadžić "Soso" which would produce music of a patriotic nature such as Na obali Drine and Samo je duša ostala. The group would dissolve in 2005.[1]
