Former Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Mirpur Khas, Sindh Maulana Amir-ud-Din Mahar(مولانا امیر الدین مہر) is considered as one of the great and serious scholars of Sindh. Maulana was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan India in 1936. At the age of 12, he entered Maulana Mir Muhammad's madrassa in Jacobabad and studied Arabic and Sindhi for the first six years. He got the first position in M.A Islamiat and was awarded a gold medal, Maulana is one of the few scholars who started a madrassa in Mansoora, Hala Sindh. Maulana Amir-ud-Din Mahar joined the Madrasa of Mirpur Khas in 1978 after being associated with Mansoora for twenty years. He joined the International Islamic University, Islamabad in 1988. He retired from the Islamic University in 2002. Thus, 44 works of Maulana have come to light, but the greatest scholarly achievement of these scholars is the Sindhi translation of Tafheem-ul-Quran of Maulana Syed Abul Ali Maududi Rahmat, he was also hosted by Pakistan Television Network many times as an Islamic Scholar and also on radio Pakistan, Moulana Ameer Uddin Mahar passed away on December 14, 2020.
