Moses Akerele[1] is a Nigerian television and radio personality. He has work as a presenter on television and radio, a television content writer and producer, an actor, director, and film producer.[2]

Early Life

Moses was born in Kaduna state, Northern Nigeria and spent his early years in the state.

Education

Moses is a graduate of Mass Communication; holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Benin, and also a Diploma in Television and Film Production from the School of Media and Communications, Pan-Atlantic University.[3] He trained in film academies across Nigeria, South Africa and France including Afriff, Cine Fabrique, LFA and the MultiChoice Talent Factory.[4] In 2019, Moses interned across M-Net local TV series including The River, The Queen and Isibaya in South Africa.

Career

He has worked as a presenter for a number of media houses including Yaw Naija TV and Silverbird TV / Rhythm FM. He Caught the attention of many with his presence on the Red Carpet as a TV Host for Yaw Naija TV.[5]

In 2018, he made his acting debut on the popular hit TV series MTV Shuga playing the character Khalil[6] in the two seasons of the show and also its mini series, "Alone Together" featuring conversations[7] between the main characters during lockdown[8] starring alongside other actors across the globe, including Timini Egbuson, Jemima Osunde, Adebukola Oladipupo, Abayomi Alvin, Tomiwa Tegbe, Nick Mutama, Lerato Walaza, Sthandiwe Kgoroge, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Mamarumo Marokane and Mohau Cele amongst others.

In 2019, he debut as a director working on his first short film Closure.[9][10] Closure went on to screen at the Realtime film festival,[11] Miami 4 Social Change Youth Film Festival[12] , and at The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative.

In the same year, he directed his first feature film, Life of BIM [13]. Both films went on to win awards at the Real Time Film Festival[11] in 2020[14] and 2021.[15]

In the following years, Moses has written a number of films and series as well as producing and directing Television reality shows and commercials.

In 2020, Moses opened the virtual stage of the Pavillon Afriques with his ‘The Africa I See’[16] poem at the Cannes Film Festival[17].
